How your team renews TLS certificates

About 10 minutes. Please describe real events, not opinions. Short answers are fine, and "never happened" is a useful answer too.

I'm researching this problem to decide whether to build a product. Nothing is for sale here. I'm Hieu Tran; I use AI tools to help with this research, including drafting messages and organising responses. Answers are kept private and only shared in anonymised form.

Think of the last time a certificate expired, nearly expired, or a renewal went wrong (a load balancer, firewall, IIS, Exchange, an appliance or a vendor portal). What happened, and how did you find out?

What did it cost: downtime, hours, a weekend, an incident report, an angry customer?

How do you track and renew certificates today? Walk through the last renewal: where the list lives, who does it, which steps are manual.

What do you use or pay for (a spreadsheet, calendar reminders, your CA's portal, CertKit, Venafi/Keyfactor, certbot/win-acme, an MSP)? What's still manual, and have you planned for 100-day certificates from 15 March 2027?
