Scripture Memorization Guide

A message from Pastor Eli: Memorizing Scripture takes time, but that's part of the benefit and goodness of memorization. Work at your own pace and don't be discouraged if you don't make it through the whole passage. Select any of the exercises which best suit your individual learning style.

Scripture memorization is not about pressure, but delight. We want to savor God's word, which is why we are setting aside time to memorize it and meditate upon it. So enjoy the journey, and let your heart delight in what the Lord says!

1. Recite Romans 8:28-30 out loud, and try listening to an audio version or recording of yourself.

2. To memorize the whole passage, repeat each verse, one at a time, until fully memorized. Write or type as many times as needed.

3. Complete the verses.

b. What does Paul teach about God's purpose for believers in verse 29, and why is becoming "conformed to the image of his Son" central to His plan?

c. How should the truths of Romans 8:28-30 shape your response when you face suffering, uncertainty, or difficult circumstances this week?
