Beginning with a warm-up, the class will move on to dance technique and quality of movement exercises. In this open class, you can learn how to relax your body while moving and how your breath is connected to your body. We will focus not only on technique, but also on the inner workings of the body and mind. There will also be guided improvisational dance practice. It will be an interesting experience for you to see how the dance techniques we practice one by one will eventually naturally come together to form a single combination.
Ayumi's contemporary dance is inspired by Tokyo Space Dance, ballet, butoh, and various contemporary dance styles. In November 2024, she won the 3rd prize at the BIONIC Festival in Madrid, Spain.
