Hi Everyone! I appreciate your interest in helping me develop a course on reading for landscape diversity. This is the first time I'm developing a course, and I knew I'd rather co-create a course with you than make one alone.
Throughout the survey, there are many opportunities for a long-form response. Feel free to write as much as you like, even if it doesn't pertain to the question. The outcome of this survey will guide the next steps. Maybe it's not a course? Maybe it's a pamphlet, a tool kit, a seminar, or all of the above?
My goal for this course is to increase the number of perspectives we are exposed to in learning about landscape architecture. Many traditional landscape architecture texts leave out marginalized voices, which might leave the impression that landscape architects do not value these unique perspectives.
However, I have found that landscape architects and allied professionals are passionate advocates for learning more and implementing changes in their practices that are more socially just and culturally competent.
The intersection of landscape architecture and diversity requires insights from many disciplines, and I hope to make interdisciplinary connections more obvious or accessible through this course. Please help me do that!
