Nolton Africa: Application For Project Associate

Nolton Africa is an institutional and capital advisory firm accelerating social impact in Africa.

We work with foundations, donors, funders, boards and the organizations they back. Our job is to help them build institutions that last and deploy capital that works.

We do this through two practices:

Institutional Advisory works directly with organizations to strengthen their strategy, governance, operating models and investment readiness.

Capital Advisory works with donors, funders, foundations and boards on capital strategy, resource mobilization and the design of funding vehicles.

The work we do is important. Good strategy and well-designed funding structures only matter when they translate into results.

Ideas need to become plans. Plans need to become action. People need to be aligned. Deliverables need to be completed. And somewhere between a great strategy and actual results, someone needs to make sure everything comes together.

That is where you come in.

We are looking for a Project Associate who is organized, thoughtful, resourceful and genuinely interested in making things work.

Someone who can take a brief, understand what needs to happen, figure out how to get it done and keep moving until the work is delivered.

You will work closely with the Nolton Africa team across consulting engagements, institutional strengthening projects, capital advisory assignments, development programs, research and partnerships.

This is not a role where you simply wait for instructions or forward emails. We want someone who can think, ask good questions, take initiative and grow into greater responsibility. Our Ideal candidate must be based in Abuja, Nigeria.

If you are excited by the idea of helping institutions become stronger and helping capital create meaningful results, we would love to meet you.

YOUR THINKING & PERSPECTIVE (At least 150–250 words per question.)

Impact investing is often presented as a way to solve social problems while generating financial returns. Where do you think this approach works well, and where might it fall short in Africa?

If you had ₦100 million to invest in solving one problem in Africa, how would you decide where the money should go? What would you want to know before making that decision?
