Ark Labs is building Arkade, an open-source virtual execution layer for Bitcoin. We're creating infrastructure that enables programmable, scalable Bitcoin applications without changing the base protocol, while maintaining self-custody and supporting complex financial applications.
What We're Building
Arkade introduces programmable Virtual Transaction Outputs (VTXOs) that can execute complex logic offchain while remaining anchored to Bitcoin's security. Key components include:
• Core Infrastructure in Go — powering Arkade’s backend.
• Multi-language SDKs (Rust, Go, TypeScript)
• Arkade Script and Compiler - expanding programmability in Arkade while retaining Bitcoin's UTXO model.
• TEE-based signing infrastructure for secure, verifiable operations.
• Virtual Mempool enabling parallel transaction processing enabling horizontal scale for Bitcoin native applications.
• Reference wallets and proof of concepts for lending protocols, smart wallets, marketplaces, and other Bitcoin-native applications.
What You’ll Work On
As a Golang Engineer, you’ll build and improve the core infrastructure that powers Arkade. You’ll:
• Build and improve Arkade’s core services and protocol infrastructure in Go.
• Work on transaction batching, settlement, and Bitcoin-native value movement.
• Design reliable systems for managing VTXOs, transactions, and protocol state.
• Build APIs and services used by wallets, SDKs, and applications integrating Arkade.
• Improve performance, scalability, observability, testing, and fault tolerance.
• Work with Bitcoin transactions, Script, Taproot, and the UTXO model.
• Collaborate with the engineering team on protocol design and new Arkade capabilities.
Who You Are
• Strong professional experience with Go.
• Experience building production backend services, distributed systems, APIs, or infrastructure.
• Solid understanding of concurrency, testing, software architecture, and maintainable code.
• Comfortable reasoning about system reliability, performance, and data consistency.
• Familiarity with Bitcoin fundamentals, or strong motivation to learn.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote, async-first team.
Nice to Have
• Bitcoin or Lightning development experience.
• React, React Native, Node.js, mobile, or PWA experience.
• Active Open-source contributions.
• Cryptography or security experience.
• Experience with Go, Rust, Python, Dart, or C#.
