An Evening with Joelle King

Joelle King is one of New Zealand’s most successful Commonwealth Games athletes and an internationally recognised squash player.

In collaboration with Ōtorohanga Squash Club Rural Support will host a community evening with Joelle following her squash sessions with local children.

An Evening with Joelle King will be open to the wider community, with Joelle sharing her experiences from an elite sporting career and talking about resilience, wellbeing and performing under pressure,  including navigating setbacks, maintaining perspective and what has helped her keep going through the highs and lows.

Joelle will be supported by Emma Millar. Emma is a former NZ squash representative turned coach, merging a passion for teaching and squash to support squash players across all levels - from Joelle King to those trying squash for the first time and everything in between. Her involvement in the game spans across multiple areas, coaching, coach development, mentoring and developing the game across New Zealand.

The evening will be relaxed and conversational, with an opportunity for people to hear Joelle’s story, ask questions and take away practical insights that can be applied to sport, work, farming and everyday life.
