Befriending Fear

This workshop will take place at etxetera, on Wednesday, June 3rd at 19:30.

Fear shows up in the moments that matter most - before a difficult conversation, a big decision, a performance, or a step into the unknown.
Rather than trying to eliminate it, this workshop invites you to understand it, work with it, and relate to it differently.

Hosted in the intimate setting of etxetera, this is a small-group experience designed to be both exploratory and grounded.

About the Facilitator:

Louis Allan is a fear coach and the founder of Exploring Fear. With a background in physical therapy and years of coaching experience, he studies how fear shapes human behaviour and how people can develop a more constructive relationship with it.

Louis has delivered workshops for companies including Eurosuccess and delivered talks at conferences such as Mind Body Spirit Cyprus.

What to expect:

This is not a lecture. It’s a guided, participatory workshop. We will explore fear through:

- Authentic relating - Simple trust-based exercises - Accessing and using the voice - Somatic practices - Nervous system regulation tools

The session will open with a short introduction and group conversation, and close with reflection - including reframing your personal story around fear and integrating what emerged during the workshop.

This workshop is for anyone who:

- Feels held back at key moments - Is navigating change or uncertainty - Wants to understand their emotional and physical responses more clearly - Is curious to explore fear in a practical, embodied way

FAQ

Do I need to bring anything?

A notebook and a pen are recommended. Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase at the bar.

Do I need any prior experience?

No experience is needed. All that’s required is an open mind and a willingness to explore parts of yourself you may not usually pay attention to.

What is expected of me?

This is an open and participatory workshop. You’ll be invited to explore your relationship with fear in a safe, supportive environment alongside others. Everything is an invitation - you are free to engage at your own pace, and all parts of you are welcome.

Can I arrive late or leave early?

The workshop will begin at 19:30 sharp. We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to grab your drinks/snacks and settle into the space.
There will be a short grace period of 5 minutes, after which entry will no longer be possible, out of respect for the group.

The session will end at 22:00, with the space available until 22:30 for informal conversation, questions, or simply staying a bit longer.

Will this workshop deal with trauma?

The workshop is not designed as trauma work or therapy.
However, some of the tools and explorations may be supportive in understanding personal experiences, including those related to fear and past events.

What if I have social anxiety?

That’s very welcome here.
For many people, simply showing up is the hardest part. The space is designed to feel gradual and non-pressured, and participants often find that initial apprehension settles quite quickly once the workshop begins.
