Hi there! Thank you so much for taking the time to participate in GFY Financial Confessions. I wanted to give you some important information about how your responses will be handled:
Before you submit, please read through the points below, along with our
Privacy Policy and
Terms of Service, which set out the full picture of how we handle your data and what you're
agreeing to. Once you're happy, tick the box at the bottom.
1. Voluntary. Taking part is completely voluntary. You have the freedom to withdraw
your responses at any point before publication without needing to provide a reason. Just
email community@gfy.co.uk.
2. Completely anonymous. Your responses will be kept completely anonymous
across all GFY platforms, and any info you give will be kept strictly confidential. Under no
circumstances will your answers be attributed to you personally. Broad context (like an age
range or general industry) may stay in the published version where it's relevant to the story.
As a general rule, please don't share anything you aren't comfortable being published.
3. Duty of care. I understand that these are sensitive and potentially triggering
topics. If you need signposting to any resources or organisations please get in touch at
community@gfy.co.uk. Samaritans are also available 24/7 on 116 123.
4. Your contact details. You'll be asked to provide your first name, email and (optionally) your Instagram handle. These are the only personal details we collect as part of the series.
Occasionally we may ask for other information for specific future series, but this will always be made clear on the submission form. Your contact details are only ever viewed by Alice, and any communication you receive from us will only ever come from Alice directly. Your contact details will never be published or shared with anyone else. If your submission isn't published, your contact details will be deleted from the Tally form 18 months after submission. If your story is published, contact details are kept while the series is active. You can ask us to delete your contact details at any time and we will.
5. The more detail the better. Please only share what you are comfortable sharing
but don't worry about your word count. More is better as unfortunately we don't always have the capacity to follow up if there isn't enough information.
6. Please don't use AI. GFY Confessions is built on real human stories in real
human voices. Please don't use ChatGPT or any other AI tool to write or polish your
submission. We genuinely don't mind about typos, spelling, grammar, or rough edges, we'll
tidy all of that. What matters is that the words are yours.
7. Payment. Contributing to GFY Confessions is unpaid. Occasionally, a series or
specific post may be supported by a paid sponsor or brand partner. If a sponsor is involved
with your submission in any way, we'll let you know in advance and ask for your permission
before going ahead. Where a confession is sponsored, you'll receive a small fee.
8. Your permission and how we edit. By submitting this form, you're giving
permission for your story to be shared anonymously across GFY platforms. When we say
"we" in these terms, we mean Alice plus any editors who help shape anonymised stories for
publication. Editors only ever work with anonymised content and never see your contact
details. We may reorder your story for clarity, delete for brevity, and correct errors. We won't
remove important details or change the substance of what you've written.
9. What happens after you submit. You'll receive an automated email confirming
we've received your story. Alice will then review your submission personally. If anything
needs follow-up or clarification, you might get a personal email from Alice asking for a bit
more detail. You'll also be notified ahead of publication so you know when your story is
going live.
10. After publication. Once your story has gone live, it becomes part of the GFY
Confessions series and will not be deleted. The series is published anonymously and forms
an ongoing archive, so published posts stay published. The only exception is if something
identifying ever slips through in error, in which case let us know straight away and we'll sort
it. Your contact details can always be deleted separately on request, even after publication.
If you have any questions or concerns about the disclosure or the story itself, feel free to
reach out at community@gfy.co.uk.
Thank you so much for your contribution,
