Waste on multi-day trips

University of Antwerp logo
Welcome! Please read this short info first. At the bottom you can tick the box to take part.

What is it about?

When you walk or cycle for several days and sleep outdoors, you often carry your waste for days: packaging, food scraps, toilet paper... I want to understand how you deal with that today, what is annoying or goes wrong, and what would make it easier to carry everything out. Later this could become a product, but just as well a service or a system (for example at campsites or bivouac areas). I am not designing anything yet: first I want to understand the problem properly, and for that I need your experience.

Who am I?

Mathijs Tuyaerts, master's student in Product Development at the University of Antwerp, Belgium (Faculty of Design Sciences). Supervisor: Bruno Van Son.

What do I ask?

This survey takes about 10 minutes. There are no right or wrong answers: I want to know how it really goes. Think mainly of your most recent multi-day trip.
