Concerned about Discord Age Verification Changes?

Discord recently announced a global age verification rollout, requiring users to verify that they are adults, otherwise be limited to a Teen experience. A scanned ID and picture of your face will be used to verify, promised to be deleted after verification by Discord. This will be required to view Discords with adult content and communities, unless Discord can infer from your account age that you are an adult (a process that isn't very transparent).
We know that a lot of LGBTQIA+ communities gather on Discord and rely on these invite-only spaces to discuss sensitive matters. If you and your communities are concerned about this change, we want to hear from you.

Would your communities be benefited by joining Northsky Social?

Northsky Social is an open/public social network based on ATprotocol, similar to Bluesky, that can communicate with Bluesky and other independent hosts like Blacksky and Eurosky. Together, we all form a decentralized global social network.
Northsky is based in Canada, run by a non-profit worker-owned cooperative, and committed to serving the 2SLGBTQIA+ community specifically. It's made by us and for us, because we're tired of seeing our communities torn apart by heartless corporations and government overreach.
