Self-Producing for Directors

Summer 2026 Led by Josh B. Bradley

Take control of your career by acquiring the skills and knowledge necessary to create your own artistic opportunities.

This 6-week intensive is designed specifically for emerging and early-career directors who want to create autonomy over their creative careers by producing their own artistic opportunities.

This isn't a how-to on starting a theatre company or a class about directing technique.

Over six weeks, you will learn the ins and outs of simultaneously producing and directing small-scale, high-impact work. By the end of the course, you will have a fully vetted production roadmap for your next project.

As a final project, students will present a pitch presentation for a production of their choosing. The project is designed to give you an in-depth look at production planning and will prepare you with a roadmap for actual pitch situations.
