Virginia SBDC Veteran Small Business of the Year Award Application

About the Award

Each year the Virginia Small Business Development Center (SBDC) selects one veteran business owner for the Virginia Small Business Veteran of the Year award. This award recognizes veterans who have made a significant contribution to the economy through ownership of a Virginia small business and have made a significant difference in their communities by promoting a sense of duty, and volunteerism.

Application Window: July - September

Eligibility Guide

✅ Possess a DD214 (copy to be included in the application). If you don’t have a DD214 click here for how to get one.

✅ Currently owns at least 51% of a Virginia-based for-profit business. OR

✅ Has owned at least 51% of a for-profit business for at least one year in the past.

✅ Is living in Virginia at the time of their application and award.

✅ Is not a past awardee of the Veteran Small Business of the Year by Virginia SBDC.

✅ Must agree to a publicity release.
