Lynx Explanation Evaluation Study

Thank you for contributing to our research on the interpretability and trustworthiness of computer vision models for wildlife monitoring. In this survey, you will compare explanations generated by different techniques for two models across images of Eurasian and Iberian lynxes.

Your responses will help us evaluate which explanations are most informative and meaningful for understanding system match decisions.

To better visualize each image, please right-click on it to open it in a separate window.

Each explanation contains heatmaps reflecting the most important areas for the similarity scoring of the image pair. Red areas contribute positively to the score, whereas blue areas contribute negatively.

The first heatmap column shows the contributions from the whole model, whereas the following ones reflect the contributions to the most relevant channels (parallel intermediate outputs of the model which encode different features) with the largest contribution to the final scoring.

By participating in this survey you accept that your responses will be used for research purposes. No personal data will be collected in the survey.
