Celebrate the launch of Laura G. Lee’s new picture book, I Am Human, with a reading followed by a conversation with fellow author Charlotte Cheng of Common Sense Media. Framed as a conversation between a boy and his AI-powered companion, I Am Human asks what it means to be human at a moment when AI is becoming increasingly present in everyday life. 

Laura and Charlotte will discuss the origins of the book, how much the world of AI changed during the two years it was being made, where children are encountering AI now, how it is shaping schools and daily life, and what we want to protect about human connection, creativity, and childhood as technology continues to evolve.
