Small World Explorers is a trade name of Global Citizens LLC, a limited-liability company organized under the laws of the State of California (hereinafter “Global Citizens LLC” or “Small World Explorers”). This Agreement is between each participant and Global Citizens LLC.

The Program described in this Agreement takes place primarily in Taiwan and is organized in partnership with locally licensed educational and travel providers. Small World Explorers’ role is limited to coordination, facilitation, and U.S.-based administrative support. Local program execution, instruction, and transportation in Taiwan are delivered by licensed third-party providers operating under the laws of Taiwan.

Participant Agreement & Signature

This Agreement — including the terms below and the Terms & Conditions, Cancellation Policy, and Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Agreement”) — constitutes the entire agreement between the participant and Global Citizens LLC (doing business as "Small World Explorers") with respect to the program and supersedes all prior oral or written representations or agreements.

Each adult (18 years or older) participating in the program must complete and sign this Agreement. Participation is entirely voluntary, and signing this document indicates the participant’s full understanding and acceptance of all terms.

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from or related to this Agreement shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Mateo County, California, and the parties consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

Section 1: Acknowledgement and Assumption of Risks

I understand that participation in Small World Explorers programs involves inherent risks. These activities include, but are not limited to: international travel, outdoor and recreational activities including, but not limited to, light hiking, swimming, and exploring natural environments, cultural experiences, various forms of transportation and lodging, and services provided by independent third-party operators.

I understand these risks may include, but are not limited to:

- Physical injury, illness, or death due to falls, collisions, accidents, (extreme) weather, natural hazards, or exposure to communicable diseases such as COVID-19.

- Loss or damage to property due to travel-related issues such as delays, lost property, or border-crossing complications.

I understand that activities specific to the Taiwan program may include—but are not limited to—guided field trips, fishing experiences, urban and rural sightseeing, and travel by public or chartered transportation such as ferries, buses or trains.

Additional risks include, but are not limited to:
– Differences in local laws, traffic patterns, or emergency response standards;
– Communication challenges or misunderstandings due to language or cultural differences;
– Illness or injury in locations with medical practices or facilities that differ from U.S. standards;
– Risks inherent to group travel in a foreign country, including transportation delays, local food sensitivities, or insect-borne illness.

I voluntarily and expressly assume all such risks for myself and on behalf of the minor children listed above.

I acknowledge that my participation (and that of any listed minors) is completely voluntary, and that I may decline or withdraw from any activity at any time.

Section 2: Responsibility for Third-Party Providers

I understand that Small World Explorers designs, arranges, and coordinates travel experiences, but that many of the core services and activities are operated by independent third-party providers ("Providers"). I acknowledge that these Providers are not employees, agents, or under the direct control of Small World Explorers.

These Providers include, but are not limited to:
– Children’s Camps (such as summer camps, winter camps, ski schools, sailing camps, or trekking camps)
– Travel Agencies & Tour Operators
– Transportation Services (including airlines, bus companies, watercraft/ferry operators, and transfer services)
– Accommodation Providers (such as hotels, lodges, or rental properties)
– Local Guides, Instructors, and Activity Vendors

I acknowledge that participation with these Providers is at my (or our family’s) own risk, and I release Small World Explorers from any liability for their acts, errors, or omissions.

I acknowledge that such providers may require separate waivers or terms, which I agree to review and sign as necessary.

For the avoidance of doubt, my general assumption of risk under Section 1 also extends to all activities or services provided by these third-party Providers.

Section 3: Third-Party Recommendations, Guides, and Affiliate Relationships

I understand that Small World Explorers may provide travel guides, suggestions, and recommendations for various third-party services, products, and activities for our convenience. These may include, but are not limited to, recommendations for dining (such as restaurants and cafés), cultural activities (such as sightseeing spots and local classes), personal services (such as spas, wellness treatments, or clinics), and logistical needs (such as workspaces or gear suppliers).

I also understand that Small World Explorers may participate in affiliate marketing programs. This means the company may earn a commission when I purchase services or products through links provided, at no additional cost to me.

By accepting this agreement, I acknowledge and agree to the following:

Recommendations are for informational purposes only. All recommendations are provided as suggestions without warranty or guarantee of quality, safety, or satisfaction. Small World Explorers is not responsible for vetting every recommended provider.

I assume all risks for using recommended services. I am solely responsible for conducting my own due diligence and making my own judgments. I agree to hold Small World Explorers harmless from any claims, damages, or losses arising from my use of any recommended product, service, or activity.

I acknowledge the existence of affiliate relationships. I understand that Small World Explorers may have a financial relationship with some of the companies it recommends and consent to this arrangement.

Section 4: Release of Liability and Indemnification

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, I — ON BEHALF OF MYSELF, THE LISTED MINORS, AND MY HEIRS —RELEASE, DISCHARGE, AND HOLD HARMLESS SMALL WORLD EXPLORERS / GLOBAL CITIZENS LLC INCLUDING ITS OWNERS, DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AGENTS, AND PARTNERS, FROM ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, CAUSES OF ACTION, DAMAGES, OR LIABILITIES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO MY OR THE MINORS' PARTICIPATION IN THE PRGRAM.

This release includes claims based on ordinary negligence but does not include claims arising from gross negligence or willful misconduct.

Furthermore, I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Small World Explorers / Global Citizens LLC from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees and costs) arising out of or related to my or the minors’ participation.

I understand and agree that any claims arising from activities or services taking place in Taiwan may be additionally subject to the local laws and dispute-resolution procedures of Taiwan, and that this Agreement is intended to be interpreted to the fullest extent permissible under both U.S. and Taiwanese law.

I have read, understood, and agree to this entire section. I acknowledge that I am giving up certain legal rights, including the right to sue Small World Explorers for ordinary negligence, and I voluntarily agree to release, discharge, and indemnify the company as described above.

Section 5: Medical Care & Insurance

I certify that I and all listed minors are physically fit for this trip. In the event of a medical emergency, I authorize Small World Explorers to secure necessary medical treatment and agree to be financially responsible for all associated costs.

I understand that while basic local liability insurance is provided as part of the tour, it is limited in scope. I acknowledge that it is solely my responsibility to secure adequate travel and medical insurance for myself and the minors, and that Small World Explorers does not provide or assume responsibility for such coverage. I understand that obtaining adequate travel and medical insurance is mandatory for all participants.

Section 6: Conduct & Supervision of Minors

I agree that parents/guardians are solely responsible for the supervision of their minor children outside formally supervised activities. I understand that unsafe or disruptive behavior may result in removal from the program at our own expense and without refund.

Section 7: Photo & Video Release

Please read this section carefully and make a selection. Your signature on this agreement confirms you have read, understood, and made a choice below.

By selecting “YES,” I grant Small World Explorers / Global Citizens LLC (“the Company”) permission to use photographic portraits, pictures, or videos in which I and/or my minor children listed in this agreement may appear.

1. Permitted Use: These images may be used, in whole or in part, for the Company's marketing, documentation, and promotional purposes. This includes, but is not limited to, use on the Company's website, social media channels (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn), newsletters, printed materials, and partnership proposals. The Company will not sell or license these images to unrelated third parties.

2. No Compensation or Approval: If I grant permission, I waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising from or related to the use of these images. I also waive any right to inspect or approve the finished product.

4. If I decline permission, the Company will make every reasonable effort to honor my choice. These efforts may include notifying participants before taking group photos intended for marketing, so that I and/or my child may step out of the frame. While the Company will not intentionally use any image where I or my child is the main subject, it cannot guarantee complete exclusion from photos or videos where we may appear incidentally in a large group or public setting.

Section 8: General Terms

I have read and understood the trip’s cancellation and refund policies as outlined in my trip agreement. This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from or related to this Agreement shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Mateo County, California, and the parties consent to the jurisdiction of those courts. Global Citizens LLC shall not be liable for any delay or failure in performance due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, weather, or government restrictions. In the event of any legal action arising out of this Agreement, the prevailing party shall be entitled to recover its reasonable attorneys' fees and costs.

Severability: If any part of this Agreement is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement: This Agreement, together with the Terms & Conditions, Cancellation Policy, and Privacy Policy, constitutes the entire understanding between the participant and Global Citizens LLC (dba Small World Explorers) with respect to participation in the program and supersedes all prior oral or written representations or agreements.

Section 9: Adult Participant Signature

By signing below, I affirm that I am 18 years of age or older, have read, understood, and voluntarily agree to all terms of this Agreement for myself and on behalf of the minor children listed above (if applicable).

I understand that each adult participant must complete and sign this waiver separately, and that my electronic signature has the same legal effect as a handwritten signature under the California Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (Cal. Civ. Code § 1633 et seq.).
