Who’s this raffle for?
Hamza Salha is a 23-year-old journalist who recently left Gaza to attend university in Ireland via a University of Limerick scholarship program. He studied English literature at Al Aqsa University, and he also previously studied in the We Are Not Numbers program with the late Dr. Refaat Alareer and in the Erasmus+ program in Malaga, Spain.
He has also published a poem about the moon.
With the support of his scholarship and with community support, he has been able to attend his two terms of Master's in Journalism and Communications at the University of Limerick.
Now Hamza needs your support again to pay for ongoing medical and dental bills he has accrued of over €3000 and daily living expenses. Hamza is currently not able to work due to not having not yet received his Irish residency permit.
Surviving genocide takes a toll on one's body, mind, and soul, and support doesn't end just because someone has left Gaza. Thank you so much to everyone who have showed up for Hamza. With community solidarity, anything is possible.
