PRODUCTION INTERNSHIP  

SUMMER 2026:

Vagrants is a creative production company based in Boston, MA. We are a creative studio that seeks to push the boundaries of filmmaking in commercial advertising and beyond. WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We seek an intern to join our production staff to support our producers and directors. This internship will be a crash course in the basics of commercial production. The right candidate should be an organized, self-motivated, and creative problem solver who is taking  steps toward a career in either producing or directing. A strong background in design and creative writing is desired!

ROLE/RESPONSIBILITES

● Assist directors in the writing, design, and assembly of commercial treatment decks.

● Develop, organize and maintain a database of reference videos and images to

support director reels.

● Coordinate with producers in the research necessary to bid on upcoming productions.

● Work directly with producers, directors and associated crew in the assembly of

pre-production books for upcoming projects.

● Flexing into a Production Assistant role on shoot days. Tasks to be assigned by

producers and production managers.

● Keep the office vibes high! Assist in stocking kitchen and office supplies.

● General assistance to Vagrants team members in the day-to-day operations of the

Company.

● Tracking, organizing, and maintenance of production assets.

● Assist in office event planning and staffing.

● Research AI tools and strategies to aid company operations.

REQUIREMENTS

● Motivated self-starter skilled in multitasking, time management, and organization.

● Interested in a career in commercial production and/or advertising.

● An excellent communicator with a charismatic personality who is driven, efficient, curious, and resourceful.

● Proficient in Google Suite.

● A digital native, but a vocal communicator.

● Comfort in navigating the difficult scenarios in the heat of a production schedule and a resourcefulness to find useful tasks in downtime.

● Willingness to provide creative feedback as well as quality control.

● Calm and deliberate demeanor within a highly dynamic, fast-paced environment.

● A valid US driver’s license and personal laptop.

● Sense of humor.

This candidate should be a self-motivated, tech-savvy, video junkie that has a passion for process and an eye for detail. We are seeking grit over experience and humility over ego. This is an opportunity to grow your experience and technical know-how in all things production. Candidates that show notable drive and passion have the potential to continue a working relationship beyond the internship.

SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

This is a part time, 12-week paid internship starting in June and ending in August.  Work will be conducted in person at Vagrants’ office 2 days/week in Somerville, MA. Intern will be expected to work in our office from 10am - 5pm. The program starts with hands-on training but develops into more responsibility and creative freedom as the intern masters skills.
