Which books/ authors can participate?
Direct Sales: I like the idea of doing this on Itchio, as Itch will display the regular price and signal that prices have been marked up. But if you sell directly by other means; eg. on Payhip, KoFi, your website, etc; feel free to put your regular price up by $1 for the sale, participate, then mark them down.
Bookshop.org: if you distribute via D2D but don't sell direct, you're welcome to promote your anti-sale on Bookshop.org. As a store that shares its profits with brick and mortar indie stores, its perfectly on brand for this sale. Note: participating this way will likely require you to increase your price on all stores, so you aren't underselling
Will there be a sale landing page?
I will at least publish a general description of the sale on my author website, fleshed out by people's responses on this form. If I find time and spoons to list author names linked to their stores on that page (or to do so by genre); I will.
I will be making a bingo card for the sale, to function like a digital equivalent of a stamp trail at a bookfair; a fun way to encourage people to browse books and pay attention to authors during the sale. Again, info below will help and there's a box for people to suggest book/ author traits for the bingo card.
