Volunteer Treasurer Application

Thank you for your interest in serving with Thirst With Hunger.

In Acts 6:1–6, the early Church faced a practical challenge. Widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution, and administrative strain threatened the focus of the apostles. Rather than allow disorder to grow, the apostles established structure.

“Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.” Acts 6:3

Financial stewardship was not treated as secondary. It required spiritual maturity, integrity, and wisdom. The apostles remained devoted to prayer and the ministry of the Word, while qualified servants were appointed to oversee distribution with accountability and transparency.

Thirst With Hunger follows this biblical model.

EIN: 39-3406242

Registered Business Address: 8401 Mayland Dr. Ste S. Richmond, VA 23294

Thirst With Hunger exists to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, equip believers through sound biblical teaching, and cultivate spiritual maturity through discipleship, prayer, and Spirit-led formation so that individuals and communities are strengthened in truth and holiness.

As a state-recognized nonprofit organization pursuing federal 501(c)(3) status, Thirst With Hunger operates under nonprofit governance standards and IRS expectations. While our teaching and ministry work has been active, we formally began building our nonprofit governance structure in May 2025.

We are intentionally laying foundations that are biblically sound, legally compliant, and operationally strong.

This includes:

• Accurate financial record keeping • Proper oversight of funds • Transparent reporting to the board • Strict separation of personal and organizational finances • Compliance with state and federal filing requirements • Clear internal controls and accountability

The Standard of Integrity

The IRS requires nonprofit organizations to demonstrate independent oversight, financial integrity, and responsible management of charitable resources. Failure in these areas risks legal penalties, organizational instability, and damage to the trust of donors and the testimony of Christ.

Treasurer Role Requirements

To uphold these standards, the Treasurer must demonstrate:

• A good reputation and high personal integrity • Full alignment with our Statement of Beliefs • Wisdom and spiritual discernment • Competence in financial management • Commitment to transparency and board accountability • A willingness to serve above reproach

Section 3: Statement of Beliefs Acknowledgment

At Thirst With Hunger, we hold to the historic Christian faith, joyfully grounded in the unchanging truth of God's Word. Our desire is not merely to know about God, but to encounter Him through Spirit and truth, worship and the Word, holiness and healing.

THE SCRIPTURES

We believe the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments constitute the Holy Bible, which is the verbally inspired Word of God. As the complete and final revelation of God's will for all humanity, it is inerrant in its original writings. The Bible (2 Timothy 3:16-17) is the infallible and authoritative Word of God, serving as the supreme and final authority for all matters of faith, conduct, and godly living.

GOD THE FATHER

We affirm our belief in one eternal God, who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Though distinct in their roles and functions, these three persons are unified in essence, perfect attributes, and divine nature.

JESUS CHRIST

We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully human. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, lived a life without sin, and died as a substitute for humanity on the cross. He physically rose from the dead, ascended to heaven, and is the exclusive path to God the Father.

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe the Holy Spirit is actively involved in the lives of all believers: He convicts the world of sin, brings about spiritual regeneration, empowers for service, and sanctifies us. We affirm that all the gifts of the Spirit, as described in Scripture, are in operation today.

SALVATION

We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8–9). Through the finished work of Jesus, we are forgiven, justified, and made new. True salvation produces ongoing transformation, evidenced by obedience, holiness, and fruitfulness.

THE CHURCH

We believe the Church is the Body of Christ—made up of all born-again believers. We are called to gather, grow, and go: to worship in unity, disciple one another, and proclaim the Gospel to all nations (Ephesians 4:11–13; Matthew 28:19–20).

INNER HEALING AND DELIVERANCE

We believe Jesus came to heal the brokenhearted and set the captives free (Luke 4:18). Inner healing and deliverance are essential aspects of the believer’s journey to wholeness and spiritual maturity. Through the Spirit and the Word, we renounce lies, break cycles, and restore identity in Christ.

HOLINESS AND CONSECRATION

We believe God has called us to be holy as He is holy (1 Peter 1:16). We reject lukewarm, compromised Christianity and pursue lives of purity, reverence, and full surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

MARRIAGE

We believe that biblical marriage, as designed by God, is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman. Established in Genesis and affirmed by Jesus, marriage reflects the union of Christ and His Church. Any definition of marriage outside of this design including same-sex unions, does not align with Scripture. We uphold this truth while offering grace and restoration to all who seek God’s design for love, holiness, and wholeness.

THE RETURN OF CHRIST AND ETERNAL DESTINY

We believe in the literal, visible return of Jesus Christ. Believers will be resurrected to eternal life, and the unrighteous to eternal separation from God (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Revelation 20:11–15). Heaven and hell are real, and now is the day of salvation.

OUR POSTURE

We do not aim to entertain or pacify. We call the hungry. We do not bend Scripture to culture. We call the broken to truth. We are a house of healing, holiness, and hunger—for Jesus alone satisfies.
