Hold On To Your Hopes & Zines! (Queer Time - August)

UPDATE - Due to a personal emergency, we have to cancel our July workshop. We regret having to miss meeting everyone and share about zines this month! Our August workshop will have the same theme. Please register below for the August workshop (details updated).

We (@nosebite.studio & @interiorgardeningindia) invite the queer & trans community for a creative workshop focused on hope and resource building! We began these zine-making workshops as a response to the collective crisis brought on by the Trans Rights Amendment Act (India). In these monthly workshops, we offer participants a tool that misfits and punks across the globe have used as a form of resistance for many decades. In a world that is continuously trying to stomp us out, zines can be a beautiful, tangible medium to create footprints of revolution. So join us and begin(or continue) your zinester journey!

The workshop will begin by 11:35 am, and we request participants to try and join by then. While we will send a Calendar invite a few days in advance, do set any necessary reminders for yourself. All levels of participation are welcome! While we would love to see faces, you can keep your video off if that allows you to be more present. You can use the chat function in the meeting at any time to ask questions or share your thoughts with the group. We will offer a 5 minute bio-break after the first hour. Feel free to keep snacks or drinks with you, and take more breaks as required. The software we use (Jitsi) unfortunately does not offer Closed Captions, but we can ensure to speak clearly and loudly and repeat ourselves as needed. While the main language used in the workshop will be English, the facilitators also speak Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, and Gujarati, and welcome you to express/make zines in your native tongues. Are there any other accommodations that would make your online workshop experience smoother? We will try our best to be mindful accordingly.

We are offering a sliding scale fee for this workshop. The facilitators include trans and queer individuals. We request you to pay what you can between INR 50 to INR 1500 to support us in continuing to offer such community workshops sustainably. For UPI payments, use the ID 7057226601@ybl.
