Childcare or carer bursary (£30 per session)

A childcare or carer bursary provides £30 per session to help cover childcare or caring responsibilities while attending the programme. Please note: this payment counts as income for HMRC purposes.

Travel bursary (up to £30 per session) - please use public transport unless a taxi is a disability requirement, or needed for safety*

Travel bursaries provides financial support for travel costs to attend sessions, up to £30 per session. Please use public transport whenever possible.

*Taxi travel for disability or safety between home and train station (or home and venue if you live in Edinburgh). The venue is across the road from Waverly Station south exit on Market Street.

Travel Bursary Claim Instructions

If you are claiming a travel bursary, please:

1. Enter the total amount you are claiming (maximum £30).

2. Upload receipts for all travel expenses.

3. Ensure the total amount requested matches the receipts you upload.

Example: If your train ticket cost £18.50 and your bus fare cost £3.50, you should enter £22.00 as the total amount claimed and upload both receipts.

Claims cannot exceed £30, and all amounts must be supported by valid receipts.
