Performer Application — INIT 2026

Section 1 — Before You Apply

INIT is a music and arts festival on a 67-acre property on Mt. Tuam, Salt Spring Island — old-growth forest, open sky, epic views over Cowichan Bay. The stages and spaces here are intimate by design.

We're looking for movement artists, aerialists, dancers, and live performers who want to bring their work to a community that's genuinely paying attention. In 2026 we offer a general admission ticket in exchange for your contribution. If you're in — we'd love to see what you do.

Compensation at a Glance

What you contribute

Two-evening commitment + one evening off
What you receive
1 general admission ticket + 1 guest pass
In exceptional cases, compensation may be discussed with the Festival Director — this is not the norm and is not advertised.

Section 2 — Commitment Agreement

I understand that performer compensation in 2026 is a general admission ticket and I am not expecting monetary payment

I am available for the dates I indicate in this application

I will follow through on my confirmed performance commitment.

I understand that confirmed performers are expected to perform on at least two evenings during the festival (Thursday Sept 17 – Monday Sept 21). Exact scheduling is confirmed after acceptance in collaboration with the Performers Lead.

I understand that everyone on site — crew, contributors, and attendees — is expected to purchase a parking pass in advance. [→ Read about our parking initiative and the Elsewhere Springs Land Development Fund]

This festival is built around a cohesive artistic vision. By applying, you agree to embrace and contribute to the event’s overall theme and creative direction. This includes thoughtfully considering costumes, performance style, atmosphere, and how your work complements the larger experience. We encourage collaboration between performers, DJs, and other artists to create moments that feel connected and alive.
