Midriff Mag | Call for Pitches (Issue No. 1: Touch)

You found us — or someone thought you should. Either way, we're glad you're here.

Midriff is a new print magazine for women in midlife, and we're building our first issue around the theme of Touch - physical, emotional, relational, impactful. We are looking for essays, photography, visual art and unexpected ways you are inspired to engage with the theme.

One thing that might help shape what you send: Midriff runs primarily as personal essay and narrative, closer to a literary magazine than a traditional women's magazine. This means we're interested in what you experienced, what you're learning and how you're living, more than in clear directives, expert advice or clean experiences wrapped up in a shiny "and now things are great!" kind of a bow (or banana clip).

Our first-issue rates are:

Poetry — $50

Short pieces (up to ~500 words) — $100 Photography/Artwork (up to 3 images) — $100 Longer editorial pieces (up to ~2,000 words) — $200

All contributors will receive a copy of the magazine.
