Volunteer for The Ledward Centre

The Ledward Centre café has reopened and we’re looking for volunteers to help us prepare food, maintain the space, welcome visitors and operate the café.

We currently have opportunities every week for Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays in either our Café Service Team, helping with drinks, food service, washing up and restocking, or our Front-of-House Team, helping customers, operating the till, clearing tables, managing spills and checking public areas and toilets. Full training and a role-specific induction will be provided.

Please use this form to tell us when you’re available and which team you’re interested in. You don’t need previous café experience as relevant training and an induction will be provided.

Our main volunteer hours are:

Thursdays 09.00-13.00 & 13.00-18.00

Fridays 09.00-13.00 & 13.00-18.00

Saturdays 09.00-13.00 & 13.00-18.00

We welcome applications for both full and half day shifts depending on your availability.

We also have some availability Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays 17.30-19.30 for assistance with the cafe close down and prep for the following day.

Section 3: Team preference

There are four main teams:

Café Service: Making barista drinks, serving food, washing up and restocking food.

Front of House: Serving customers, using the till, clearing tables, managing spills, completing toilet checks and keeping public areas clean and welcoming.

Centre Host: Welcoming guests, sharing centre information and directing them to appropriate areas.

Close Down Team: Assisting with the cafe close down and prep for the following day.

The Ledward Centre will use the information submitted through this form to contact you about volunteering, arrange shifts and organise relevant training. Your information will only be accessed by people responsible for managing volunteers.
