Register your place: webinar on mobile phone policy for schools in Northern Ireland

Wednesday 21 October | 4 – 5pm | Zoom

Join our panel of educators for practical support on meeting the new Department of Education guidance.

The updated guidance asks all schools to be mobile phone-free by default and to review their policies during the 2026/27 academic year. In this webinar, we'll explain what that means for primary and post-primary settings, and share practical approaches to going smartphone free.

You'll hear from school leaders who have already made the change, including how they set clear expectations and brought staff, pupils, and parents with them. The webinar is free and open to all schools.

Speakers:

- Fiona Kane, Principal, St Ronan's College, Lurgan, and DE System Leadership Partner - Charlotte Carson, President, NEU Northern Ireland - David Veal, Headteacher, Hounsdown School, Hampshire - Fiona Beresford, Programme Director, Smartphone Free Childhood Schools Network
