BHS MTB Custom Training Plan - Intake

Tuesdays and Thursdays are the foundation. This is a plan for the days in between, written around the race calendar and where you actually are right now. Answer honestly rather than ambitiously: a plan built on days you do not really have is a plan you will quit in week three. One of the BHS coaching staff reads every one of these and writes your plan by hand, so give us something to work with.

What would make this a good season for you?

In your own words. A result, a feeling, a thing you want to be able to do by October. There is no wrong answer and it does not have to be about going fast.

What do you think is holding you back?

Pick as many as fit. Guessing is fine, it is a starting point rather than a diagnosis.

What can you measure on a ride?

This decides whether your plan is written in watts, heart rate, or just how hard it feels. None of these is a wrong answer and you do not need to buy anything.

Do you have access to any of these?

On a school night, how much sleep do you actually get?

Not a trick question and nobody is in trouble. Sleep does more for how you ride than any workout, and a plan that ignores it is a plan built on sand.

Anything that flares up when you ride more?

Knees, back, saddle, breathing, an old injury. Say so and your plan builds around it rather than into it.

Chapman time trial result

If you have ridden it. Helps calibrate where to start you, and leaving it blank is fine.

Any race results worth knowing about?

Last season, another league, another sport. Optional.

What do you enjoy most about riding?

Genuinely useful. A plan built around what you like is a plan you will still be doing in October.
