Bridging the Guidance Gap: Designing an AI-Powered Human Connector Platform for Aspirants Navigating International Mobility

You never really move for just a job or a degree.

You uproot a whole life and start it again. New systems, new people, new ways of doing ordinary things - and underneath it, a layer nobody hands you: the unsaid rules, the slang, the small understandings that decide whether you're getting by or actually belonging.

Most of us figure that out alone. I'm trying to understand what changes when we don't - when there's someone a few years ahead of you, in your industry, who's lived the migrant experience and will talk you through theirs. Do you feel more supported? Less alone? Does it help you belong and find your way? Does guidance actually move the needle when you're navigating somewhere unknown?

Kia ora, I'm Palak Shrivastava 😊 I'm passionate about building something that bridges the above guidance gap as part of my Master's of Technological Futures research at AcademyEX.

This survey forms a key part of my project and will take 8-10 minutes.

What happens to your answers

1. Your responses are anonymous. I don't collect your name or IP address. 2. Answers are analysed as grouped data - patterns across many people, not individual profiles. 3. Nothing you write will be quoted in a way that identifies you. If I use a short open-text quote in my thesis or a presentation, it will carry no identifying detail. 4. Data is stored securely, used only for this research, and deleted at the end of the project. Findings may appear in my thesis, academic presentations, and in the design of the platform I'm building.

Taking part is your choice

You can close the survey at any point before submitting and nothing is recorded. Please only submit when you're comfortable.

Whether you moved last month or fifteen years ago, whether it went well or it didn't - your experience is the research.

You can stop at any time you want, and nothing you write will be attributed to you in any report or publication.
