We’re looking for a strong YouTube editor who can help run SMIYL’s long-form content production consistently.
A large part of this role involves educational Cambridge A-Level Mathematics content.
That includes past-paper walkthroughs, topical revision videos, worked examples, exam preparation videos, teaching videos and other subject-specific content.
You’ll also work on more ambitious projects such as student stories, original YouTube concepts, launch videos and higher-production content.
That means we need someone who understands both sides of YouTube editing.
Sometimes the job is to turn a strong creative concept into an exceptional piece of content.
Other times, the job is to take a 30-60 minute mathematics recording and make it clear, polished, easy to follow and engaging without unnecessarily over-editing it.
You’ll work closely with our Head of Content, who will provide creative direction, scripts, briefs and feedback.
We’re not looking for someone who simply cuts pauses and adds captions.
But we’re also not looking for someone who believes every educational video needs hundreds of effects.
We want someone with the judgment to understand what each video actually needs.
You are NOT expected to independently verify advanced Cambridge Mathematics. Mathematical accuracy remains the responsibility of the academic team.
You are, however, expected to edit educational material carefully, preserve the correct sequence of explanations and flag anything that appears unclear rather than guessing.
Compensation: Approximately USD $200–$300/month depending on experience, output and fit.
Location: Remote.
We care much more about the quality of your work, how you think and your reliability than how impressive your CV looks.
