Lacrosse NSW Expression of Interest: 2026 East Coast Cup/Battle in the Capital - Players

Lacrosse NSW is pleased to open an expression of interest for playing in the 2026 East Coast Cup in Sydney as well as the preceding "Battle in the Capital" match in Canberra. This is an opportunity to contribute to the continued growth and success of lacrosse in New South Wales. Dates:Battle in the Capital (Canberra) is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 26th.East Coast Cup (Sydney) is scheduled to take place Saturday, October 17 to Sunday, October 18th.
Location: Battle in the Capital: Canberra, Australia • East Coast Cup: Kingsford, Sydney, Australia (UNSW Village Green) Expectations:  • Players based in NSW will be given preference. Non NSW-based players are welcome to apply and will also be considered. Players based in Sydney will be expected to commit to approximately 1 training a week from mid-August through to the event. Anticipated training days will be Sundays and/or Wednesday evenings set in Sydney • Note: Transportation will not be provided to Canberra. Players will be expected to coordinate rides/carpool to and from the event. Anticipated Cost Breakdown Players will need to be registered for the 2026 year with Lacrosse Australia for insurance purposes, if not already registered. (If you've played Field or Box Nationals in 2026 you are already registered. Registration cost is $110. Submissions received on or before August 16th, 2026 will be given priority consideration. Code of Conduct

All successful applicants will be bound by the below Code of Conduct as provided by Lacrosse Australia (LA). If you do not agree with or are unable to accept the below code of conduct please do not accept any offer made to you by Lacrosse NSW.

If you are a participant of Lacrosse New South Wales it is understood that you will abide by the Code of Conduct at all times.

Players’ Code of Conduct In addition to LA’s General Code of Conduct, you must meet the following requirements in regard to your conduct during any activity held or sanctioned by LA, an MA or an affiliated club and in your role as a player/participant in any activity held by or under the auspices of LA, an MA or an affiliated club: 1. Respect the rights, dignity and worth of fellow players, coaches, officials and spectators. 2. Do not tolerate acts of aggression. 3. Respect the talent, potential and development of fellow players and competitors. 4. Care for and respect the equipment provided to you as part of your program. 5. Be frank and honest with your coach concerning illness and injury and your ability to train fully within the program requirements. 6. At all times avoid intimate relationships with your coach. 7. Conduct yourself in a professional manner relating to language, temper and punctuality. 8. Maintain high personal behaviour standards at all times. 9. Abide by the rules and respect the decision of the official, making all appeals through the formal process and respecting the final decision. 10. Be honest in your attitude and preparation to training. Work equally hard for yourself and your team. 11. Co-operate with coaches and staff in development of programs to adequately prepare you for competition at the highest level.
