Join us for a special evening of cinema featuring five short films by Alexander Machlouzarides-Shalit - a one-hour journey across distinct stories, moods, and perspectives.
The evening opens with a short introduction by the filmmaker, followed by a brief Q&A after the screening - a chance to step a little closer into the process behind the work.
Machlouzarides-Shalit is an award-winning Cypriot director, born in New York in 1996 and based in Cyprus since 2006. He studied Film at Falmouth University and Directing at MetFilm School London. His short films have received multiple international awards and have been screened at BAFTA, Academy Award, and European Film Award–qualifying festivals, with selected works available on MUBI.
In recent years, he has been active both as a filmmaker and within the broader industry - leading projects as a director and studio operator, participating in international programmes such as the Cannes Young Lions, and contributing to workshops and festival juries in Cyprus and abroad. His work reflects a commitment to telling Cypriot stories with a voice that is at once local and outward-looking.
