Care, damage & replacement. The Cartelier cart and supplied equipment remain the property of Cartelier at all times. The hirer may be responsible for the reasonable cost of repairing damage occurring while the equipment is in their care. Where equipment is lost, stolen, destroyed or damaged beyond reasonable economic repair, Cartelier may claim the reasonable replacement cost, up to the applicable replacement value.

Safety & liability. Once delivered, positioned and accepted, the hirer is responsible for following Cartelier’s placement, weather and safe-use instructions and taking reasonable precautions to prevent unsafe use, movement or interference by guests or third parties. The cart and umbrella must not be left exposed to strong winds, storms, heavy rain or other conditions reasonably likely to cause damage or injury. If weather conditions become unsafe, use of the umbrella must stop. Where it is safe to do so, the umbrella must be closed and removed, placed in its supplied sleeve and stored safely. The cart should then be protected using the supplied waterproof cover. Personal safety must always take priority over protecting the equipment. To the extent permitted by law, Cartelier will not be responsible for injury, loss or damage caused by misuse, unauthorised movement, interference with the equipment, or failure to follow the safety, placement or weather instructions provided.

Collection & returns. The cart must be available and accessible at the agreed collection time. If Cartelier or its transport provider cannot access the equipment as agreed, additional reasonable collection or transport costs may apply. Cartelier retains ownership of the equipment and may take lawful reasonable steps to recover property that is not returned or made available for collection.

Cancellations & transport . Cartelier uses a third-party transport provider which may be booked up to 7 days before your event. Cancellation or date-change charges may therefore take into account reasonable costs already committed, including non-recoverable transport or personalised add-ons, where permitted by law.

The security deposit does not limit responsibility for loss or damage exceeding R1000 where the hirer is liable under the Rental Terms & Conditions.

I confirm that I have been provided with, have read and agree to Cartelier’s Rental Terms & Conditions .

I understand the R1000 security deposit is refundable, payable before delivery, and may be used to cover damage, loss, or excessive cleaning as outlined in the Rental Terms & Conditions.

I’ve read and accept Cartelier’s Safety & Liability Notice, and agree to follow the placement, weather, and safe-use guidance provided.
