Reports to: Senior Executive, Business Development and Partnerships
On-site requirement: Required for Lagos-based Eventhive events, particularly where sponsor/client meetings and relationship management require physical presence.

Through its growing portfolio of events across Lagos, London, Nairobi, Kigali, and Johannesburg, Eventhive connects businesses, policymakers, investors, executives and other industry stakeholders to create opportunities for knowledge-sharing, partnerships and business growth.

About the Role

We are looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Sponsorship Sales Executive to grow sponsorship and partnership revenue across Eventhive's growing portfolio of events.

You will be responsible for identifying prospective sponsors, developing relationships with decision-makers, presenting sponsorship opportunities, negotiating commercial terms and closing deals.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys B2B sales, understands how businesses make marketing decisions and can sell the commercial value of access to a highly targeted professional audience.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Generation

- Identify and research prospective sponsors, exhibitors and strategic partners across Eventhive's event sectors.

- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of prospective clients.

- Conduct outbound prospecting through calls, email, LinkedIn, industry networks and other channels.

- Identify companies whose commercial objectives align with Eventhive's audiences and event themes.

- Develop relationships with marketing, communications, business development and senior management decision-makers.

Sales & Business Development

- Present Eventhive's sponsorship, exhibition and partnership opportunities to prospective clients.

- Understand each prospect's business objectives and recommend appropriate event opportunities.

- Develop tailored proposals and sponsorship packages in collaboration with relevant internal teams.

- Conduct sales meetings, presentations and negotiations.

Follow up consistently with prospects throughout the sales cycle.

- Convert qualified leads into paying sponsors and partners.

Meet or exceed agreed sponsorship revenue targets.

Account Management

- Maintain strong relationships with existing sponsors and identify opportunities for repeat business and upselling.

- Understand client expectations and ensure commitments are clearly communicated to internal teams.

- Work with the operations and marketing teams to ensure sponsors receive agreed deliverables.

- Identify opportunities to expand client relationships across Eventhive's wider event portfolio.

Pipeline & Reporting

- Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, proposals, negotiations and closed deals.

- Keep the CRM or sales tracker updated.

- Provide regular pipeline and revenue forecasts.

- Track conversion rates and identify opportunities to improve the sales process.

- Monitor competitor events, sponsorship offerings and market trends.

Event & Industry Engagement

- Attend Eventhive events and industry gatherings to meet prospective clients and strengthen relationships.

- Build a strong understanding of the industries covered by Eventhive's event portfolio.

- Stay informed about companies entering new markets, launching products, raising capital or expanding their commercial activities.

- Identify businesses that could benefit from Eventhive's audiences, thought-leadership platforms, exhibitions and media opportunities.

Requirements

- 2–4 years of experience in B2B sales, sponsorship sales, business development, media sales, events or a related commercial role.

- Demonstrated experience meeting sales or revenue targets.

- Strong prospecting and relationship-building skills.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Strong presentation and negotiation abilities.

- Comfortable selling to senior decision-makers.

- Commercially aware and able to understand a client's business objectives.

- Strong follow-up discipline and pipeline-management skills.

- Comfortable using CRM systems, spreadsheets and other sales tools.

- Experience selling sponsorships, advertising, media, exhibitions, events or professional services is an advantage.

Salary Expectation: N300,000 - N400,000
