How The Assessment Works

Perform each movement test once.

If you meet the completion standard, select PASS. If you cannot meet the standard, select FAIL.

Each test you pass earns 1 point.

This assessment was designed by Alex Russell, a MTB performance coach with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy.

Each movement assesses your competency in the seven patterns essential for riding: Hinge, Squat, Lunge, Push, Pull, Rotate, and Stabilize.

Your total score reveals your current "trail readiness" and long-term durability on the bike. Most riders score between 5–8 on their first attempt.

No equipment is required and the full assessment takes about 5 minutes to complete.
