While The Conversation's quizmaster Fritz Holznagel is on vacation, we're offering our quizzers the chance to fill his shoes. Can you write a question about the news that's as witty as Fritzy's?
The ground rules:
1) The question needs to relate to a recent or archived story in The Conversation’s U.S. edition. The exact answer doesn’t have to appear in the story, but it does need to be related to the story and something that has been widely in the news and is guessable for a typical reader.
2) There can be only one right answer.
3) No jokes about Herbert Hoover.
4) No use of AI. You're wittier than Claude.
5) Submit your question by Wednesday, April 22 at 11:59 pm PDT.
6) Our judges will pick the 8 questions they find to be the newsiest and funniest. Yes, you’ll get credit in the quiz!
7) If your question is chosen, we'll send you one of The Conversation's screen wipes – perfect for cleaning your phone and your reputation – as well as our respect.
