A Reflection For Fathers: How do we create the conditions that allow us to fall into play?

My name is Carlos Rodarte. I'm a Mexican American father of two daughters, born in California, a contemplative practitioner, and a meditation instructor. I'm building a space for fathers to gather, go deep, and resource each other.

Just by participating, you'll receive the aggregated results so you can see how other fathers like you are feeling and navigating this role.

I recognize that the term fatherhood itself may bring up feelings. Know that this survey is for you whether your connection to this caregiving energy is through blood, choice, or love.

Before we begin

How many children do you have, and how old are they?

Say as much or as little as feels right.

Reflections (6 in total below)

When you're truly present with your children, not distracted, not performing, what does that feel like?

A moment of play, a bedtime story, a car ride. What happens when you really arrive?

What would it mean to you to have a community of fathers to go deep with... to laugh, struggle, and grow alongside?

Not a support group. Not a seminar. Something more like a gathering with collective reflection.

Where we come from

A few quiet questions about where you come from. The more we understand the different paths that shaped us, the richer this whole thing gets.
I'll go first. I'm in my early 40s, and I was raised by my single mother, and by my grandmother during my first five years of life. I still carry those experiences with me, in how I show up for my daughters, in what I reach for, in what I'm still learning to put down. Skip anything that doesn't feel right.

You can submit anonymously and your insights still contribute to the collective wisdom we'll share back with everyone. Or leave your email and we'll keep you in the loop, share the aggregated results, and send you an invitation when signups open on Father's Day, June 21st.

We're building a summer series of virtual gatherings for fathers, a consistent group, showing up together, going deep. Honest conversation, a little meditation, and the music and poetry that open something up.
