Grant Writers help secure institutional funding for Posterity International’s programs, initiatives, and organizational growth by identifying strong funding opportunities and translating the organization’s work into compelling, evidence-based proposals.
This is an ongoing development role rather than a semester-based internship.
Research foundations, institutions, corporate funders, and other grant opportunities
Assess funding opportunities for mission and program alignment
Draft letters of inquiry, concept notes, applications, and grant proposals
Work with leadership and program partners to gather necessary information
Translate program objectives, evidence, budgets, and anticipated outcomes into persuasive proposals
Maintain grant calendars and track deadlines and submissions
Maintain reusable organizational language and proposal materials
Support grant reporting and donor communications when needed
Excellent research and persuasive writing skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to synthesize programmatic and research information
Strong organization and deadline management
Interest in humanitarian action, international development, human rights, gender equality, or related areas
Previous grant writing, proposal development, fundraising, or nonprofit writing experience is strongly preferred but not required
Strong candidates are meticulous writers and researchers who understand that successful grant development requires both persuasive storytelling and evidence. We need people who can independently manage assignments, communicate proactively, meet external deadlines, and produce submission-ready work with care.
Substantive nonprofit grant-development experience
Experience developing proposals for real humanitarian and international development programs
Exposure to institutional fundraising strategy
Professional proposal-writing portfolio development
This is an unpaid, volunteer-based position. Posterity International is a growing nonprofit organization, and all team and board roles are currently structured as volunteer contributions in support of our mission.
