Online Community Manager (Remote)

The Person

Techloy.com is seeking a passionate and highly engaged Online Community Manager to cultivate our digital presence and foster a vibrant, loyal audience. The ideal candidate will possess a deep passion for the technology ecosystem, exceptional communication skills, and a proven track record of building and moderating inclusive online spaces.
As our human pulse, you will cultivate a loyal community by moderating discussions, creating engaging content, and fostering meaningful peer-to-peer interactions across our social platforms and online community spaces.
This role is pivotal in serving as the primary bridge between Techloy and our global community of tech enthusiasts, while ensuring the community remains a safe, vibrant, and productive space.

The Responsibilities

+ Develop and execute our online community strategy for our social presence, define the purpose and long-term goals, and create a code of conduct.
+ Spark conversations by posting thought-provoking questions, hosting Ask Me Anything (AMA) sessions and sharing exclusive updates that keep users/members coming back. 
+ Monitor and moderate discussions to ensure they remain respectful, free of spam, toxicity, and misinformation. 
+ Identify and nurture the most active members by building programmes to reward loyal users with early access or special perks. 
+ Translate community insights into actionable reports for the Commercial and Editorial teams to support brand improvement. 
+ Plan and execute virtual or hybrid events such as webinars, workshops, and networking mixers to strengthen peer-to-peer bonds.

The Requirements

+ A diploma or bachelor's degree in mass communications, public relations, marketing or related field. 
 
+ Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in community management for a media or tech company. 
 
+ A high emotional intelligence quotient with the ability to empathise, de-escalate, and connect with diverse audiences. 
 
+ Excellent copywriting capabilities to craft compelling content that drives engagement. 
+ Data literacy skills with the ability to track community metrics and draw actionable insights. 
+ Good knowledge and familiarity with community management and social media tools. 
+ Crisis communication skills with the ability to manage sensitive situations calmly and effectively. 
+ A good knowledge and understanding of the tech and entrepreneurship landscape. 
+ Event management capabilities including planning and executing online and hybrid community events. 
+ Data visualisation and analytics skills to present community insights visually are desirable. 
+ Technical troubleshooting skills to resolve platform or tool issues independently will be an added advantage. 
+ Automation skills that use tools to streamline community workflows and reporting are desirable.

The Remuneration

+ Based on standards within the technology media industry, along with exciting perks. 
+ Depending on skills and experience. 
+ The salary range is between ₦4,200,000 and ₦4,800,000 per annum.
