C/COCA Events and Programming Director Applications (NON-OSU ONLY)

Role Summary

As the , you will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of C/COCA’s events and educational programming. This includes professional development workshops, panels, information sessions, networking events, and internal community-building initiatives. You will play a central role in shaping how students engage with C/COCA beyond project work by creating well-organized, impactful experiences that foster learning, connection, and career growth across campuses.

As C/COCA continues to expand throughout Central Ohio, we are intentionally growing our cross-campus leadership. We are specifically seeking Event Coordinators from non-OSU institutions to strengthen representation and ensure programming reflects the broader student community we serve. This is an opportunity to build infrastructure, increase visibility on your campus, and contribute to a regional student-led design agency.

This role is well suited for students who are organized, proactive, creative, and motivated to build meaningful experiences for a growing multi-campus organization.

Due to the nature of the organization as a student-led nonprofit, this is an unpaid leadership position.

Requirements

Must be Class of 2027 or later

Must attend Columbus State Community College, Ohio Dominican University, Columbus College of Art and Design, Franklin University, or another Columbus-area institution outside of Ohio State University

Who we are

C/COCA is a newly incorporated nonprofit design and development agency dedicated to providing free, accessible websites and digital solutions to nonprofits and charities. We bring together students across disciplines to work on real client projects that emphasize usability, accessibility, and impact.

Alongside client work, we host professional development programming including portfolio reviews, resume workshops, and networking events with industry professionals ultimately helping students build skills, confidence, and career readiness.

Responsibilities

Lead the planning and execution of C/COCA events, including workshops, panels, info sessions, networking events, and internal programming.

Develop a semester-based programming calendar aligned with C/COCA’s mission and student needs.

Coordinate logistics such as scheduling, room reservations, virtual platforms, materials, and timelines.

Collaborate with leadership, project leads, and campus ambassadors to support joint or campus-specific events.

Work with external partners such as professionals, nonprofits, or faculty to bring speakers and collaborators to events.

Promote events through Slack, email, and social media in collaboration with marketing or outreach leads.

Gather feedback after events and iterate on programming to improve future offerings.

Attend leadership meetings and provide regular updates on programming plans and outcomes.

Dedicate approximately 2–4 hours per week, with additional time around major events.

Qualifications

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Interest in event planning, community building, education, or professional development.


Comfort coordinating with multiple stakeholders (students, speakers, leadership).


Ability to manage timelines and follow through on logistics independently.


Excited about creating inclusive, engaging experiences for a diverse student community.

Prior experience planning events, leading programs, or working in student organizations is a plus, but not required.
