TeamFlicks - Founding Community Manager / Growth Marketer (Remote)

TeamFlicks is Duolingo-meets-TeamSnap for youth sports: a mobile, video-first accountability layer that turns coach-assigned drills into measurable at-home training habits through streaks, social proof, and parent-friendly onboarding.
Mission

Own coach growth end-to-end: acquire coaches, activate teams fast, and build a repeatable community-led growth engine that increases weekly player practice submissions.

What You’ll Own
Coach acquisition across grassroots channels (coach communities, clubs, leagues, social, referrals, direct outreach).
Team activation from signup to first “successful week” (roster invited, players submitting videos, coaches engaging).
Community programming for coaches and parents (playbooks, office hours, onboarding cohorts, success stories).
Lifecycle campaigns (email/SMS/in-app messaging) to improve week-1 and week-4 retention.
Content loop: turn product use into growth assets (testimonials, mini case studies, short social content).
Voice-of-customer loop: collect objections/friction and translate into clear product and messaging priorities.
First 90 Days (Scorecard)
Launch a weekly coach onboarding motion and run it consistently.
Improve new-team activation rate (team creates first drill + gets first player submissions).
Build a repeatable referral/testimonial system from active coaches.
Ship a dashboard tracking funnel metrics from lead -> activated team -> retained team.
Deliver a clear channel plan for next quarter with CAC/effort estimates.
Core KPIs
New coach signups per week.
Team activation rate (first drill + first player submissions).
Invite-to-join rate for families.
Weekly active teams.
Week-4 team retention.
Number of coach referrals and testimonial assets produced monthly.
Who You Are
3+ years in growth, community, or lifecycle at an early-stage startup (consumer, prosumer, or SMB).
Strong operator who can execute manually and build systems from scratch.
Excellent communicator with coaches/parents; confident in direct outreach and relationship-driven selling.
Data-literate: can instrument funnels, run experiments, and make decisions from metrics.
Comfortable with ambiguity and fast iteration.
Nice to Have
Background in youth sports (coach, former athlete, club admin, or sports parent community builder).
Experience in habit products, creator tools, or community platforms.
Experience with HubSpot/Customer.io/Iterable/Notion/Airtable.

Base + performance bonus tied to activation/retention goals.
