Hawke's Bay has many of the ingredients to be one of New Zealand's best places to cycle. Yet for many people, cycling to work or allowing children to ride to school simply doesn't feel like a realistic option.
Why?
As a doctor and Hawke's Bay resident, I'm interested in understanding the real barriers to cycling. Is it safety? Infrastructure? Convenience? Confidence? Something else entirely?
Whether you cycle every day, haven't ridden in years, or have never considered cycling, I'd love to hear your perspective.
My hope is that this community feedback will help identify practical changes that could make cycling a safer and more attractive option for more people across Hawke's Bay.
