European roller derby history research

Roller derby in Europe and the UK is turning 20 this year, and we're documenting its history: the leagues that shaped it, the events that mattered, and the key moments and decisions along the way.

But we're not only after the facts and figures. We're just as interested in what happened around those events, the atmosphere, the friendships, the rivalries, the fun and crazy stories, and the small moments that might otherwise get lost from our collective memory.

Whether it's a historical fact, a detail that needs checking, or a memory that's stuck with you for no particular reason, we'd love to hear it. Every contribution helps build a fuller, more complete picture.

You can type your stories below, or leave a voice memo or voicemail if you'd rather speak than type, whichever is easier for you. You don't need to fill in everything, and you're welcome to share as much as you like.

Please feel free to share this form as widely as possible, the more people we reach, the more complete this history becomes.

Feel free to answer in the language you are comfortable with, we'll translate!

Tips for people to speak to

For each person, please include their name, their league/role, and why you think we should speak to them (e.g. "founding member," "witnessed X first-hand," "has old photos/records"). Feel free to list more than one, just separate each entry with a blank line.
