We're seeking a highly experienced and motivated Underwriter to join a leading carrier's Energy Casualty team. This person will play a pivotal role in expanding the company's regional reach and requires a deep understanding of casualty lines and a strong background in energy underwriting.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain a profitable Energy Casualty portfolio, focused on strategic growth and market penetration
• Cultivate relationships with key producers to drive new business and strengthen existing partnerships
• Conduct thorough underwriting analysis to assess risks and set appropriate coverage terms
• Prepare and issue indications, quotations, and binders with precision
• Monitor and manage the new business pipeline with timely follow-ups and conversions
• Actively solicit submissions from brokers and clients
• Provide exceptional service and support to clients
• Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions
• Contribute to underwriting guidelines and strategy for the Energy Casualty offering
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree preferred; CPCU, ARM, or other designations a plus
• 3+ years underwriting casualty lines, including Workers' Compensation, General Liability, Commercial Auto, and Excess Liability
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills with complex risks
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with clients and brokers
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Proficient in underwriting software and Microsoft Office
