Nawakwa Lodge is hosting the 2026 E9 Conclave at Camp T. Brady Saunders in late April and expects over 1,000 youth and adult Order of the Arrow members from across Virginia. Conclave is an annual weekend of fun, training, competition, and fellowship for OA members, and our opportunity to host only comes around every few years. The last time Nawakwa hosted was 2019.
To prepare for such a great opportunity, Nawakwa Lodge is calling on all scouts and scouters to help get camp ready. Volunteers do not need to be OA members. Scouts and adults from all programs (Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing, and Sea Scouts) and their non-scouting guests are welcome to register and help.
Each of the three workdays has a separate focus, so there is something for everyone to be involved in.
March 28 centers on preparing campsites for Conclave participants.
April 11 focuses getting the TBS Kitchen and Dining Hall cleaned and ready to serve all those fantastic meals the food service team is famous for.
April 18 will be dedicated to setting up the event midway and other program areas around camp.
Service hours are available each workday. Conclave workdays are also a great way to learn more about the Scout reservation and about the Order of the Arrow.
Registration is free and swag will be available for participants of the three pre-Conclave workdays, including an event sticker and a selection of heritage patches from the Nawakwa Museum. OA members that participate in two or more workdays will receive a unique Conclave Workday flap. Limited edition Conclave Workday t-shirts will also be available soon for purchase in the Nawakwa online store.
Each workday will run from 8:00-4:00 and lunch will be provided. Participants need to bring a copy of their Scouting America Medical Form parts A&B. Also make sure to wear clothing for the weather, work gloves, and a full water bottle.
*UPDATE* We are also looking for help with taking things down on Sunday, April 26, after Conclave activities have finished. Lunch will be provided.
