https://storage.tally.so/faa9e89d-2014-446c-b026-37e9320c6ff3/Template-1.jpg

By Rohan Patankar x Lagori Collective x Shivani Unakar

A BYOP (Bring-your-own-pickle) tasting party where we eat daal and rice together with a range of fermented home-style pickles from the South Asian region.

In this cosy, home-style communal meal with researcher-facilitator Rohan Patankar and food systems researcher Shivani Unakar, you will exchange notes and stories about achaars (pickles) from across the South Asian region. We’ll bring pots of daal and rice (and ghee) as well as a selection of pickles from our homes/lives. You’re invited to bring your own pickles for the table to sample. This interactive meal is for anyone who thinks of pickles when they think of comfort food.

Programme Highlights

A relaxed lunch-conversation where you exchange notes and samples of traditional pickles:

Think mango, lime, chilli, and amla pickles (and many others) from across South Asia.

Exchange notes on recipes, seasonality, storage, pairings, as well as stories and memories connected with these pickles.

Meet with fellow desi achaar nerds.
