Social Media Helper for Screaming at America
We're not too proud to admit that we need some help.
We are an all-volunteer team, so you should probably skip this if you're looking for a paid position.
Right now, we're specifically looking for someone who can help us manage and run our social media presence. We've been woefully inconsistent with our Instagram account and we think a little more help here could be a huge benefit to Screaming at America.
How we generally use social media (really just Instagram right now): advertise and promote Screaming at America events, advertise and promote the submission window for Screaming at America, support Contributors (post or re-post videos/content from or about Contributors with explicit consent), like/re-post/add to story important information or events from other accounts (e.g. re-posting ICE-related resources or info, re-posting info about how to keep yourself safe at a protest, etc.), and be an artistic watchdog for a corrupt government.
What we'd like help with: developing content to post, more consistent and frequent posting in general, more consistent interaction & commenting with other accounts, developing a more coherent social media strategy and more consistent aesthetic, eventually maybe expanding our social media presence to other platforms, and whatever else you're excited to help us do related to social media.

Great question. You get to be part of an amazing team working to build something meaningful and making a difference. You get to DO something to support free speech and art and poetry and poets and artists in the midst of a time when art and artists are under attack. Oh, and you get to fill a spot on your resume and some excellent references.
What's it like to be part of Screaming at America?
It's pretty freakin' awesome, tbh. We're a small, dedicated team of poets and artists who are passionate about this project. All of us volunteer our non-existent "free" time and a lot of energy and resources to keep it going. We're committed to working together, consensus-based decision-making, giving each other grace, and owning up to our own mistakes.
We're committed to working with you based on your availability and interests. We want you to be part of the team and to work on what you're really excited about. Above all else, we ask you to commit to proactively communicating about what you are and aren't available for. We all volunteer here! So, this type of communication is vital for us to continue doing what we do.
Who are we looking for to join the team?
We're looking for someone who is honest about their own capacities and can communicate authentically about what they are able to accomplish within a reasonable timeframe.
We're looking for someone who is passionate about supporting the platform we've created to lift up the voices of poets and artists.
We're looking for someone who is interested in running our social media presence! You don't need to already be an expert at this - we just ask that you're interested in developing these skills and supporting Screaming by helping us run our social media accounts (mostly Instagram).
