UPPERCASE 72 truth in the making

With AI stealing our written works and visual culture to feed large language models and output AI-generated images, it is becoming harder and harder to know what's true. Genuine. Authentic. Human-made.

Making art and craft and being creative—without any digital or technological mediation—is something we dearly need to hold on to. How do you explore your art/craft and express your creativity in a way that is completely authentic to you? What is the truth in your making? How are you expressing your truth and individuality? How are you discovering the truth of who you are by making art?

A selection of submissions will be published in UPPERCASE issue #72 (Jan-Feb-Mar 2027) and/or the UPPERCASE newsletter.

Please describe your submission. How are you expressing your truth and individuality? How are you discovering the truth of who you are by making art? This form accepts 200-1200 characters; spaces are included in the character count.

IMAGES

Upload up to 6 images. Files should be saved as a jpg at least 6 inches wide at 300dpi (bigger is better for print purposes), saved with your full name so that it matches exactly the name you've entered above. No composite images or watermarks. No digital renderings. No AI-generated or AI-assisted imagery.
