Artist Application — Light, Installation & Digital Art

Victoria at Dusk is a winter celebration of light, art, and discovery illuminating downtown Victoria, BC, Canada, February 19–21, 2027, 5–9pm nightly.

We invite light and installation artists, digital artists, designers, and creative thinkers to reimagine the winter city through light, art, and storytelling. Submission deadline: Midnight (11:59pm PT), September 1, 2026.

We wish to showcase First Nations (particularly Lək̓ʷəŋən) stories, innovation, perspectives, and culture. We invite you to share with us if you identify as an Indigenous Canadian and your Nation.

We are committed to providing opportunities to creatives of all backgrounds and experiences including BIPOC and 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, any groups or individuals facing systemic marginalization, and any folk facing barriers to traditional exhibition. Can you confirm if you will set up, strike, and monitor your installation during the festival? What equipment will you bring for setup, and do you require any support?

Please note that we require artists and their teams to install, monitor for the duration of the festival, and strike their own works. We require artists to be available for any maintenance or troubleshooting with their own works.

Are you able to be on site on 19 February to set up, be there each evening (5–9pm) to ensure operation, and then strike after 9pm on 21 February?

What are your safety/weather plans?

Budget: Please share a budget below, including artist honorarium, travel, equipment and supplies, and the total cost of you and your artwork joining Victoria at Dusk.

Include all fees, artist offers will be based on the fee below. Please note that ALL artists must hold their own insurance of $5 million (for installations, $2 million for low risk/performance installations). Please note below if your budget is flexible or fixed.
