As a graduate at Mode you will work on client-facing projects from day 1. Your work will involve a mixture of quantitative investigation, including building quantitative models and tools and econometric analyses, and qualitative narrative development, including literature syntheses and policy analysis. Our graduates will have different strength areas but we expect all new joiners to work towards building a rounded profile, being as comfortable presenting to clients as doing quantitative work. As you gain experience you will rapidly become responsible for structuring problems, identifying solutions, and delivering work products. A ‘typical’ Mode project lasts for around three months, with short projects lasting around a month and longer ones up to a year. Analysts will work on a number of different projects in their first year, gaining experience working with different team members, on different topics, and learning a broad range of different skills. You will receive close mentorship from a senior team member who will encourage and guide you to develop your career. As Mode is a small firm, we pay special attention to ‘on the job’ training, which is supported by regular development reviews.
