Head of Commercial Strategy

Part-time, on-site (Heidelberg)/hybrid

Application Deadline: April 24

QuantiLight is building a diagnostic platform that delivers lab-grade blood test results in minutes at the point of care. The company’s first clinical focus is therapeutic drug monitoring, beginning with transplant care, with expansion into additional diagnostic and research applications over time.

Based on our strong technology foundation from the Max-Planck Institute, we have built a cutting-edge prototype validated in real care settings and already work with clinics and key opinion leaders, supported by strong partners and grants. We closed our Pre-Seed round in Q2 2026 and are completing the core team bringing the platform to market.

To get there, we are hiring our Head of Commercial Strategy.

The Role

You will work with the founders to establish and scale QuantiLight’s commercialization pathway and early market traction.

As a hands-on leader with a high level of ownership, you will be responsible for taking further the company’s commercial foundations ahead of product launch. You engage directly with external stakeholders to build GTM strategy, partnerships and sales, from first conversations to closing, turning ideas into practical outcomes.

What you will do

• Define and lead the company’s market access strategy for the first product in Europe and the United States, including reimbursement pathways, pricing logic, and evidence requirements.

• Work with external consultants to map payment flows, coding and reimbursement pathways across target markets.

• Initiate and expand early institutional relationships with transplant centers, healthcare systems, and payers in the first three launch markets (US, France, Germany).

• Define the partnership structure and commercial model

• Lead business development activity, including customer segmentation, outreach, and lead validation.

• Lead commercial discussions with prospective partners and customers from initial engagement through negotiation.

• Maintain market intelligence on customers, competitors, and evolving reimbursement environments to inform product and market strategy.

• Build the company’s commercial function from the ground up.

• Develop key commercial materials and represent QuantiLight in industry conferences and external engagements (20% travel time).

Your Profile

• 8+ years of commercial experience in diagnostics or closely related in vitro diagnostics (IVD) markets.

• Master’s degree in life sciences, biotechnology, diagnostics, business, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.

• Demonstrated experience developing and executing market access and reimbursement strategies for diagnostic products: reimbursement pathways, clinical workflow integration, and evidence generation.

• Track record of personally securing commercial partnerships or early customer commitments for new diagnostic technologies or platforms with hospitals, clinical laboratories, healthcare systems, or diagnostic partners.

• Experience in startup or scale-up, building commercial strategy and partnerships from the ground up and in a small team environment.
•You like solving challenges and can operate with constrained resources and structure.

• Experience in big 4 EU markets, UK and/or the U.S. is a plus.

• Fluency in English required. Knowledge of German and/or French (B2+) is a plus.

• Candidates must have the legal right to work in Germany. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

What is in it for you
• Real ownership over revenue and GTM
• A clear path towards a future Chief Commercial Officer role as we grow

• Part-time with a path to Full-time in 2027-2028
• 38–40 k€ base (0.5 FTE) + VSOP equity, to be discussed; readjustment with the next financing rounds
